MILANO DESIGN WEEK Devon&Devon

April 2013 - number 20
MILANO DESIGN WEEK 2013 Follow Up

Devon&Devon wound up the Milan Design Week with great satisfaction for the quality and number of visitors from all over the world who crowded the Via Tortona store, as well as the considerable attention attracted by the new collection and its unmistakable contemporary classic total look. For the 2013 edition of the Milan Design Week, the Florentine brand was present in three different contexts, with the same number of different “inspirations”, at the Fuori Salone events (Tortona Zone), at the Official Show and at the State University of Milan.

The most important moments of the event, reflected in the most significant images, are outlined below.

FUORI SALONE Via Tortona 34

In the elegant spaces of the former mechanical workshop of Via Tortona, the permanent site of the Devon&Devon store, the black and white theme – as in a film of yesteryear - dominated the 2013 setting, as reflected in some of the “items” presented: the white version of the President tub, the Bentley vanity unit in black&white and, from the Home Boutique collection, the elegant Dancer glass cabinet and the Teatime wood and glass table.

INTERNATIONAL FURNITURE EXPO
“PROJECT: OFFICE TO LIVE” by JEAN NOUVEL

For the “Project: office to live”, the French architect Jean Nouvel has chosen the Diva tub and the Etoile bathroom furnishings collection to bring to life, with unequalled elegance, his personal interpretation of Classic Office. Valorised by Artemide lighting and Kartell historic home furnishings, the Devon& Devon collections succeeded perfectly in interpreting Nouvel’s design concept.

STATE UNIVERSITY OF MILAN
LEVI’S INSTALLATION by MARTIN GUIXÉ

For What’s your interpretation – the name of the installation with which Levi’s® 501® celebrates its 140 years of business at the Expo-Event Hybrid Architecture and Design – the Spanish designer Marti Guixé has selected one of Devon&Devon’s cult items, a total white version of the Admiral tub, as leading player of the photographic set inside which visitors expressed their personal interpretation of the original Levi's 501®, each becoming a source of inspiration with its own personal style.
